3:30-3:55 pm 11/13/22 -Snow clouds and snowing -33 Degrees -70% humidity  - 9 hours 50 min was the length of the day   So snow is in the picture now on November 14. Absolutely no bugs seen or felt. The green level report has gone down a drastic amount, everything that was green is now white. I measured about 2-3 inches of snow that we got during the weekend.  Of course the one time I don't have my bow I see deer, although they were 100+ yards out so not much I could have done with that.  Here are some busy Nuthatches First time having to wear boots Measuring the depth of snow (2-3 inches)  Everything is white instead of the brown or green pictures from this same spot as last times.  Day 1 Animals I could identify  Time of day 1 Birds, crickets, mosquitos, bullfrogs, chipmunk, spotted owl, screech owl, squirrels, woodpecker, Canadian goose,  lightning bugs, bats Evening 2 White headed nuthatch, Squirrels, cricket, Red headed woodpecker, ...

1:25-1:50 pm 10/29/22 -Clear sky -59 Degrees -37% humidity  - 10 hr 26 min was the length of the day No mosquitos again, and really no bugs at all.  Everything is defiantly a lot less green than last time and a lot more brown. There wasn’t really a way to sneak in. Just crunch crunch crunch but luckily I wasn't hunting there today. Leaves were constantly falling down left and right especially in the wind.  Waterfowl season opened up a bit ago and I heard shots all around me going after ducks/geese by the river. I also had  a few fruit flies land on me and just chill out.  Linked video of leaves falling: leaves falling in wind Here are some leaf sketches I did, I couldn't identify that bottom one however the top one is a white oak. Heres my fruit fly friend And these pictures are showing how dead/ brown everything is and we can finally start to see some trees leaving their leaves behind on the ground.  Day 1 Animals I could identify...

One of my good friends, Joseph needed to do his field study for the week and he is doing it near my section so I made a pit stop at my place and took some pictures with a nicer camera. However I did not record all the extra animals, this is just a bonus photo shoot for the week and we can start to see fall colors.  -6:45-7:15 pm 10/12/22 -Rainy -48 Degrees -94% humidity  - 11 hr 12 min was the length of the day

It's Deer Season!!!     I t's that time of year again, people are talking about leaves and pumpkin spice lattes, all I can think about it getting fresh venison jerky. So I've got my bow with me this time. I'm loving this "homework". I am living my normal life and all I have to do is right a few things down as I observe them, its not this brutal time consuming assignment that I dread, I look forward to getting in the woods and nature and enjoying the things God gave me. Sadly I didn't get a deer this time, I blame it on the warm front. The deer don't like to move when it gets warm and it was warm. -2:30-2:55 pm 10/2/22 -Clear sky -65 Degrees -40% humidity  - 11 hr 41 min was the length of the day Here are my linked videos: - White Headed Nuthatch living its life - White Headed Nuthatch returns and calls   Here is a random flower/weed that decided to bloom for some reason that was not there last time When I got home last time I researched some bird calls...

2nd Post       Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, I made my way back to the land this time with a climbing tree stand for two reasons, first to get used to using the climber since its different than the ladder stands I've used in the past and secondly my hope was to get 20 ish feet above those pesky bugs... It didn't work too well. It was better than my last trip though, I think I came home with 6 mosquito bites as opposed to the dozens a few weeks ago. The main info of the trip was: -7:55-8:20 pm 9/19/22 -Clear sky -70 Degrees -72% humidity  -12 hr 19 min was the length of the day     I have been struggling with getting videos onto blogger so I created a youtube channel and will post the links here: Bat sighting My View from 20 ft up Squirrels, Birds and Crickets, Oh My!      This will be my one and only night post, it was the only time that worked in my schedule for this section, so sorry in advance for the darkness of the videos, that...

1st post Hello, welcome to my blog. This is my first post and an intro to my land that I chose. It's a part of the Allegan State game land. I hope to hunt it this fall. Linked here is my EDD  -8 pm 8/31/22 -Clear sky -74 degrees  -69% humidity - 13 hrs, 13 min was the length of day This is a sound map I made the first time I visited, I figured I'd hear the most on the first day. Sorry its a bit wrinkled, its a hike in the backwoods with no major trails so it got a little messed up. But I was hearing birds, squirrels, bugs, crickets and other critters too! And this is my intro video showing the land I chose. Here is where I'll be putting my stand and below is a panoramic view of the land Questions from visit 1 -Will the bugs get less buggy later in the season? -How many deer will I see here? -Are the 2 scrapes I saw current or old? Observations from visit 1 -I noticed 2 big game trails passing through 2 buck scrapes - I noticed and felt a crap ton of bugs  -Everythi...
